Fig Tree Religion

It started in the Garden of Eden, and it's still with us today. The ultimate price for man's iniquity and rebellion against God is death. What was this death? This death was separation from God, because that's what the word means. Yet, Adam and Eve, when they ate of this forbidden fruit, they did not physically die, but they lost their contact and fellowship with the Lord God Almighty.

Gen3:6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.

Whatever this tree was, it was a very enticing thing and she saw that it would make one wise. It incorporated a philosophy, and this philosophy was to possess a wisdom apart from God. And there's where we have seen the "fig tree religion" flourish for the last 6,000 years, of Adamic existence.
